Edge window position

Pages which appear in Edge are situated about 1 1/2 inches to the right.  That means that about 1 1/2 inches of the right side of any page is both out of sight and out of reach.  The cursor stops at the right border of the screen.  The left side of the page leaves about 1 1/2 inches unoccupied.  The cursor will drag the left side of the screen further to the right, thereby making the problem worse, but it stops dragging the left border of the page at that same position, about 1 1/2 inches inside of the left margin of the screen.  I am pretty sure that I caused this problem by inadvertently hitting something on the keyboard, but I don't know what I hit.  The only thing that I can think of is to uninstall, and then reinstall Edge, but I really don't know if even that will work - or even create worse problems.  I need help.

    Hi RobertBarton6,

Is your Microsoft Edge window maximized? Since you can't see get to the right side of Microsoft Edge, follow these steps and see if this solves it.

    1. On Microsoft Edge, press ALT + Spacebar to bring up the menu.
    2. If Maximize is not grayed out, click on it to maximize the window.

    Eric

Thank you for your time and information - but . . .   Your suggestion #1 - I can't get to the 3 dot menu because I can't get to anything on the right side of the page.  Suggestion #2 got further. I went to the Apps & Feature and clicked on that.  I got a long list which included 2 Microsoft Edge choices:  "Microsoft Edge" and "Microsoft Edge Update".  I tried each of those, and the results were the same for each.  There was a box to "Modify" and a box to "Uninstall".  I tried Modify on both Edge and Update.  The results were the same for both, which was the typical box asking me if I wanted to allow this to make a change to my device.  When I clicked on Yes, the box went away, but nothing appeared as a result of having done this.  I'm still tempted to uninstall, but I can be patient.  Fortunately, I have other browsers.  I'm certainly open to more suggestions.

    Thanks again,

    Bob

PS  Your suggestions are clearly written and consequently very easy to follow - wonderful.

If worst comes to worst, try resetting the browser.

    Hi Robert,

Let’s try resetting your Edge browser by following any of the two basic methods below:

    ·         Open the “Settings” menu by clicking the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the Edge window and choose “Settings.”

    ·         Under Clear browsing data, click “Choose what to clear” and then click “Show more.”

    ·         There are a lot of data types there. Select them all and click “Clear.”

    ·         Restart your PC and re-open Edge for a clean slate.

    Or

    ·         Press the Windows + I keys from the keyboard to launch Settings.

    ·         Click Apps, then Apps & features from the left pane.

    ·         Locate and click Microsoft Edge.

    ·         Click Advanced options, then click the Reset button.

    Hope this fixes the issue.

    Kind regards,
