Other issues or features related to Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

I have Windows 10. When I start the computer and open to the desktop, the first thing that opens is Microsoft Edge and Bing. I have to delete them to open my default browser and search engine. I did not ask for this and it has turned from a novelty to an aggravation. At this time I do not want to change my search engine or browser. I would like to know how to stop Microsoft Edge and Bing from automatically opening at all automatically and particularly at the start, when I start up the computer.
This feature was not there when I purchased the new computer with Windows 10. It came much later, probably as part of an automatic Windows 10
update. In an ideal world, Microsoft would, on request, remove this feature.
Any comments on how to remove this feature would be appreciated
Thank You
