400 Bad Request - Request Header or Cookie Too Large nginx

I keep getting this message when doing my online banking in Edge (used to work ok).  Bank said it is Edge at fault.  Switched to using IE a few weeks ago and now I am having the same problem with that.  Sometimes I can log in and do one thing but if I try to do something else I am thrown out and get this message.  Can't log in again until I have restarted laptop.  Deleting cookies only helps once and then same thing happens again.  Don't have a problem with other websites.

    Hi ValerieJames_908,

Have you tried using InPrivate window to access your bank website?  If it works with InPrivate window, then you don't have to delete all your cookies at shutdown.

    1. Click on the three dots menu button.
    2. Click on New InPrivate window.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you receive an error when browsing a bank website. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1.     Does this issue occur only with Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer?

    2.     Which banking website are you trying to access?

    3.     Were you able to access the site earlier on the computer?

    4.     Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?

As you have already tried clearing Cookies, one of the things I would suggest you is to try flushing DNS and see if that helps.

    Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1.     Type Command Prompt in the search bar.

    2.     Right click on Command Prompt icon and select Run as Administrator.

    3.     Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

    4.     After running the command, please restart your computer.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

    Hi Nikhar

    1.  Edge and IE are the only 2 browsers I use - my sister still uses Edge to do her online banking with the same bank and OS so I know that Edge isn't the problem.

    2.  Santander

    3.  Have used Edge to do this online banking successfully for years - problem only recent.  I switched to IE which worked for a few weeks before encountering the same problem.

    4.  Only changes I am aware of are Windows 10 and Apple updates.

I have now set my laptop to remove all cookies at shutdown and I am again able to use Edge for my online banking without this problem occurring.  However as I am not confident that the problem won't come back I will keep your instructions and get back to you if I have to try them.

    Thanks

I have the same issue with Windows 10/Google Chrome.

I tried the above with no change!

    Worked fine, using Opera Browser.
