Edge (Chromium) - mouse wheel won't scroll "screen at a time" (a single notch moves it from top of page to absolute bottom)

I'm using Win10 Pro 1909; 18363.592.

I use a Microsoft Mouse, and the mouse wheel is set to scroll "one screen at a time."  This works perfectly for most programs (including the legacy version of Microsoft Edge).

This week, I installed the new Edge Chromium in 2 different machines; a Lenovo Thinkpad and a custom-built desktop (both with the same OS, and both using MS mice, though the mice are different models).  In both, moving the mouse wheel a single notch scrolls the page from the very top to the very bottom.  SO annoying!!!  How can I fix this, so that a single notch will scroll only one screen at a time?

Other than this, it seems to be nice browser.

    Hi,

I have been researching on this issue and you may want try a feature in the New Edge to disable “Microsoft Edge scrolling personality”.

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. In the address bar type edge://flags.
    3. In the search box at the top, type Microsoft Edge scrolling personality.
    4. From the drop down next to Microsoft Edge scrolling personality select “Disabled
    5. Once you change the status, on the bottom right corner you will see an option to “Restart” Microsoft Edge browser. Click on Restart button.
    6. Microsoft Edge should restart and you should be able to use the scrolling option with one page at a time.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes, that appears to work.  How wonderful!

Now waiting to see whether there is any adverse effect of making this change.  I haven't used Edge Chromium enough since flipping this switch to know yet.

I don't understand why the MS Edge team ever would have programmed the default scrolling behavior the way it did.  Would love to know.

Thank you so much for the fix.

Thank you for your response.  I appreciate your confirmation of my experience.  I have reported the issue.

I had already tried your suggested workaround (set scrolling to multiple lines).  However, while improving Edge, that messes up the scrolling in EVERY other program I use.  Simply not worth it.

The scrolling in Firefox, Chrome and legacy Edge work fine.  This issue is a deal-breaker for me, and I'm abandoning Edge Chromium until it is fixed.

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that the when you use the mouse scroll in Microsoft Edge Chromium, the page scroll from top to bottom.

I have tested this on my computer and found the same behavior that you are observing. One of the work around that I can suggest you is to change the scroll setting to Multiple lines at a timethis will change the scrolling behavior in Microsoft Edge Chromium.

However, we do have a place, where you can share the suggestions and feedbacks. I would encourage you to provide your feedback and suggestions, so that our developing team can look into the suggestions and constantly improve the features. Kindly follow the steps below to submit a feedback.

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Now click on the Ellipses (…) on the right hand corner.
    3. Click on Help & Feedback and select Send Feedback.
