Hi Laurence_Gray1111 -
Thanks for the response and I do apologize if the method did not resolve the issue.
I understand that the issue just started without changing anything on your computer. If the Microsoft edge is working before and something might have triggered the issue, you can try to perform a system restore to reverse any changes that was made which started the issue on your computer.
Perform system restore
-This process will take your computer settings back to an earlier point in time where computer is working fine. If there's any changes made on your computer that removes the service, system restore should be able to fix the issue for you. To perform system restore please follow the steps below:
Windows will going to restart your computer to initiate system restore. System restore might take several minutes to complete depending on the current speed of your computer and the changes it will made. Applications and updates that was installed on the computer prior to the date selected will be removed. It is important that when system restore starts, process must not be interrupted.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for your speedy reply, it's appreciated.Nope, no changes were made to my computer before the issue started. Yes, it is only happening on the Edge Browser. Everything else is untouched by the issue thankfully, which means I can still use Firefox and Chrome. And I am also grateful that I can still access all my files on Windows 10.I tried everything on the list you sent me, but all settings on Edge are totally blocked by the pop up which pops up every time I try to access a setting. I cannot update the browser, repair it, or clear the browsing history, cache or browsing data. I have also restarted my computer several times.I'm beginning to wonder if this might be malware, as I just noticed the pop up also pops up when I bring up the Windows settings on the Start Page. But it does not actually stop me from accessing any other settings on Windows apart from Edge. I can close the pop up to access other required Windows settings, but with Edge it totally blocks the settings coming up.I had already done a full system scan with Norton 360 when this issue first started about 3 days ago, but Norton didn't pick anything up. I have just updated Norton and applied a patch, so am doing another full system scan at this very moment. I will let you know how it goes soon, once completed. Thanks again.Laurence
Update - the scan is now finished and yet again no threats were detected.
