PC helpsoft keeps popping up when i plug anything into my USB port. It keeps trying to get me to register after telling me how many of my drivers are outdated. Is this part of Microsoft or has it just got on my machine somehow ??. Is it safe to use ?? Thanks

    Hi Clement

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

PC HelpSoft is not part of Windows or a Microsoft software product, it is one of those driver updater utilities and probably came bundled with some other software you installed on your PC

You do not need and should not use driver updaters, they can sometimes corrupt your Windows installation, open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu), go to Apps, then scroll down to find that PC HelpSoft and uninstall it from there . . .

The uninstall unfortunately does not do a clean job so you need to run a registry cleaner such as CC Cleaner.  Make sure you back up your registry when it asks.  If you feel competent to edit the registry yourself  then go to Edit>Find and type in PCHELP>Enter  when it finds the first item, check the result then right click and delete it  then hit F3 for then next item and so on until it is complete.  There is one item that will not delete by this method in HotKey Users but if you right click and end choose PROPERTIES you can delete MOST of the info.  I did all that and now my system runs fast and clean with no pop ups from PC Help.  Hope this helps.

Great that I could find a clear answer here. I almost ran it - but glad I looked into it first.

I thought that if it WAS a Microsoft product, it would have been a part of the name! I imagine Windows 10 does its own driver updates, as is usual with their products.

    Uninstalled - thanks Dave

I accepted the 30 days trial, already uninstalled this disastrous program.

Now I want to cancel the automatic payments after 30 days and do not know how to do.

    Can you please help me?
