New Microsoft Edge can't find Print on both sides & Flip on long edge function while print PDF

Before update, the print function of PDF includes print on both sides, and can choose flip on long edge/short edge. The new Microsoft Edge doesn't have print on both sides & flip on long edge function. Where can I set print on both sides in the new Edge?

If not, can I get back to the old version? I don't need another Chrome in my laptop...

    **UPDATED 9/19/20**

    Here's what worked for me:

(I edited my printer's properties thru Windows & then Edge (and other software apps changed their print dialog to reflect those changes)

    1.  Start | Settings | Devices | Printers

    2.  Select your printer | Manage

    3.  Select "printer properties", and the Printer Properties dialog box will pop up.

4a.  Under "General" tab, you'll probably see that it says "double sided:  no", and that means any software that uses

your printer will think you don't have double-sided printing capabilities.  So, you need to do #4b to fix this.

4b.  In the "Device Settings" tab, under "Installable Options", make sure you indicate that "duplex" printing is installed

Once you click OK button for this dialog box, the setting will be saved and all other software apps using your

printer will now know you have dbl-sided printing available.

4c.  Not necessary, BUT if you want to force a certain type of double-sided printing (like "flip on long edge"), you can

set that in the Printer Properties dialog box.  In the "General" tab, near the bottom, select "Preferences", then

select "Layout" tab.  Chose desired option from the "Print on both sides" drop-down box, and select OK & OK again

           to save settings.

After you update these settings in the Pribter Properties dialog box, when you open the document with Edge (or any other sw app) & select print, you'll see the option to print on both sides.

    Cheers!

Same issue here. My printer is configured to print double-sided (and in fact, I can print double-sided if I open my PDF with another software such as PDF viewer), but I used to be able to print double sided with the old Microsoft Edge, and since new version came up this highly useful and environmentaly-friendly option is not available anymore. Could somebody from Microsoft actually answer? Could Microsoft please fix it?

    Thanks.

    Hi!

Thanks! I had actually been there already, under general. But I had missed the exact place where it was, and thanks to your message I searched further, and I actually found it under:

    Settings/devices/printer

    Manage printer

Printer properties/Device settings tab (not under "general", in my case)

Duplex unit: choose "Installed" (it was showing as "uninstalled".

And now Edge shows the option "double side printing". Finally!!!

    Best,

    FnyMT

@FnyMT... see my updated directions above.  It sounds like Edge isn't aware your printer can print double-sided.  You just need to change your printer settings to indicate that your printer CAN print double-sided... then, you should be good to go!

Hello! I have this "Double sided: no" shown in my "General tab" but in my Device Options tab (It doesn't show as Device Settings) I do not have  "Installable Options" or "duplex", "double sided" or anything like that. My printer used to always have Double sided option available, for some reason it doesn't have anymore. It's Samsung ML-1640.  I have no idea how to solve this issue and also seems like all my drivers are updated.

Thanks. I had already kind of explored these options. But finally today I found the exact place where it is. That was:

    Settings/devices/printer

    Manage printer

Printer properties/Device settings tab (not under "general", in my case)

Duplex unit: choose "Installed" (it was showing as "uninstalled".

I didn't find it before because I was not looking for the word "duplex unit" as referred to this functionality (I didn't know it meant this), so I had missed how to fix it all this time.

    Best,

    FnyMT
