Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Hi, I just uploaded/installed the new upgraded Microsoft Edge. I now find that when I open my Favorites I am unable to "pin" my Favorites to the right hand side of my screen, as I used to be able to do with the old browser. This change is VERY inconvenient for me, and it does not work for me to have the list of my Favorites running across the top of my screen just below the browser bar and thus having the data drop down into my screen within which I am working. I need to be able to keep my Favorites links open within my Favorites files, and having them drop down from the top interferes with my use of such and now it is most inconvenient that I actually have to open my Favorites, open a Favorites Folder, find the link within the folder, and WRITE DOWN ON PAPER THE INFORMATION I HAVE STORED THERE ATTACHED TO THE LINK, then close the Favorites Folders to get them out of the middle of my screen. Please advise how I can PIN my Favorites Folders on the right hand side of my screen and PIN them in open position as I work within the remainder of my screen. Otherwise, please advise how I can DELETE THE NEW EDGE BROWSER AND REINSTALL THE OLD BROWSER. I am THE USER-- my system must work for me THE USER. Thanks much for your help. MMGlenn

Pathetic. I'm back to Explorer.
Hello,
Thanks to those who responded to my post. Is there a "fix" to the inability to Pin Favorites? I would prefer not to migrate to Chrome.

Hi Sumit,
Perhaps the Pin Favorites feature could be reinstalled. One of the advantages of Edge (and Explorer before it) was having a favorites pane permanently open so you could easily navigate between favorite sites.
One reason I preferred Edge over Chrome was the pinned favorites pane.

Why, when you get something right do you insist on messing with it?? I LOVED the ability to pin my favorites menu. This new one, without pinning, is ungainly and almost impossible to use. I have multiple pages of bookmarks...trying to slide through them with a mouse is beyond maddening. I'd rather not, but I'm probably moving to Chrome. I can't mess around with this.

I understand your concerns. Yes, Pin favorite feature has been removed from the new Edge.

iFiredog has added some tips in the thread. You also may want to try using the extension I gave as it would show favorites on hover.

(With new Edge you can add chrome extensions).
Hope that makes sense and helps.
