Installing or updating Microsoft Edge on Windows 10

I installed Windows Server 2019 evaluation in a lab environment
I need to install Edge, but when I download it and start installation I get a message requiring Windows Update.
Is there any way to instal Edge without updating Windows, just to save time?
I realize it sounds stupid, please consider it's simply a lab environment...

I had a similar problem. Ended up installing Edge Canary. It does not check for Windows updates and works fine.
Since it is a tester build it may be even more appropriate for a lab environment. Had no problems so far; it looks and feels the same as the official version that I am running on other machines.
Your server must not have run updates in many, many months to get that message. Quite frankly, you need to update your server. Lucky for you, Windows 10 updates are cumulative so all you need is the latest update to get going. Here's the direct link to KB4567513, which is the latest cumulative update for Server 2019 as of this post.
I'm having the same error even after updating. I tried to install, got the message that I need to update and updated. Now it's still saying the same thing. What can I do in this case?

Hi marius
The standard Edge installer will refuse to install if your Windows version is not up to date, and there is no workaround, I don't know if that is the same for the offline installer for business, but I presume that is also the case with that installer . . .
