Dear Sirs:

I wanted to install Microsoft Edge from Microsoft website. I chose to run the installer, but some seconds later, I get this message:

"Error al almacenar en cache el instalador descargado.

Error: 0x80096005"

"(Failed to cache downloaded installer.)"

Could you please help me solving this problem in order to properly install Microsoft Edge?. Thank you very much in advance.

My computer has Windows 7 Ultimate x64 as OS.

    Hey,

    Check this out:

Right click on the installer before running it.

    Go to properties.

    Go to the compatibility tab.

tick the checkbox which says "run this program in compatibility mode for".

Below that checkbox, there are options to choose from.

Choose your windows version ( which is win 7 in your case)

Then click apply at the bottom, and then click ok to close the properties tab.

    Now try running it.

If it still doesn't work, try running it as administrator, by right clicking, and run as admin.

If it still doesn't work, get back to this forum, we'll see what can be done.

Hope these steps help in some way,

    Your friendly neighborhood Insider.

    Thanks for your kind reply.

I downloaded the 64 bits file, and tried to install it having turned my internet conection off. I got the following message box:

"There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."

And there is only the "OK" button, and it finishes the installation.

Hoping you could continue helping me with this problem.

    Thanks in advance.
