I recently got a win10 laptop with EDge  version **87.0.664.66.**I can import  favorites from Internet explorer, but not from an HTML file.  following the instructions to import from n HTML, i tell the import setting to import from an HTML, it says it;s done, but when i look at th favorites area, nothing is there.  I looked thru the manage favorites menu, still nothing.  Is there a fix for this?

BTW, can anyone tell how to increase the font size in this text box?  Can't find it anywhere.

    Greg,

I looked at the tutorial, it was for exporting to HTML.  It did link to a tutorial on importing from HTML, but it described exactly what I've tried with no success multiple times--it tells me its done, but nothing is in favorites afterward.

I really would like to avoid doing a sideways import; i'd first have t0 install another browser.

    Any other ideas?

Greg, thanks for the further info.  Well, I tried several import attempts from different HTML files just created and none of them worked,  I can't imagine they're all corrupted.  If I open the HTML file in an edge tab, I can open the links OK, so that implies there is no corruption.  It do look like the EDge import is gebust.  Too bad.

Stefan, if importing HTML will not work in Edge then the file is likely corrupted and isn't going to work any other way.   There are some fixes for corrupted HTML files  you can try here:

How to fix corrupted HTML files using Notepad

The days of having one browser are long gone. I would have several browsers on your task bar so there's always one that's best for the task. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. It's easy to share bookmarks between all of them in their settings under Import Favorites from another Browser. Firefox and Chrome let you sign in to save and/or sync your Favorites on any other device you sign into, and are more reliable than Edge at doing this. Set the preferred browser as Default in Settings > Apps > Default Apps.

    Firefox download: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

    Chrome download: https://www.google.com/chrome/

Hi Stefan. II'm Greg, awarded MVP for eleven years, Volunteer Moderator, and Independent Advisor here to help you until this is resolved.

For any internet page, hold Ctrl and roll the mouse wheel to size the type to fit the size you want within the window. It should remember this size eventually.

Follow these steps for importing Edge favorites via HTML:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/143983-how-...

If it won't work the file may have been corrupted. See possible fixes:

https://windowsreport.com/corrupted-html-file/ (Avoid ad links which intrude into editorial copy, especially avoid Restoro ad)

You can try importing it to FIrefox, Chrome or Internet Explorer and then sideways into Edge via Import from another Browser.

I hope this helps. Based on what you report back I can answer any questions and may have other steps to perform.
