Troubleshooting website display or functionality issues in Edge on Windows 10

I'm having a problem where Amazon has started not remembering me when I visit the site. It usually keeps me signed in all the time but for some reason it now signs me out after around 5 minutes of inactivity even if I have checked the boxes to keep me signed in.
I have managed to clear my cache, browser history and cookies for the site, but I'm missing something. Even with all that cleared, it still says my name at the top of the screen when I visit the site again before I have signed in, so there is some small trace on my laptop that I'm missing?
Thanks for any help.

Hello SteveHargreaves,
thank you for providing this question.
I am an independent Windows expert and user like you and hope to resolve your problems quickly.
It depends on your browser what steps there are to do.
From what i understand you get permanently logged out from Amazon.com and want that to stop.
In general all browsers offer a way to delete all browsing data.
Also you can try opening a private tab (which starts from nothing) and try to log into Amazon and see if it changes something.
Also turn off your browser extensions for the tests as any of them might also be the culprit
Then i recommend you update your system and your browser to the newest version. Might aswell be that amazon for security reasons uses auto logoff on any outdated device periodically.
Do you have a third party anti virus system installed? Uninstall it and use MS Defender. Its better and causes way less issues.
If this didn't solve your problem or you need further assistance please answer in this thread and i would be happy to help.
kind regards

Amazon can use various data bits to track your identity.
Among them might also be your internet address, the OS and version you usually use, the browser you usually use, your screen resolution, the area in which your ip address is situated.
If you genuinely want to mask your identity you need to look into all the bits of data you are permanently leaking if you are not browsing with a vpn, proper addblock, a noscript addon and a strict cookie policy. Setting up and maintaining these tools can be tedious but you can certainly learn about it.
Also if you operate any Amazon devices (like Echo) inside of your network and allow them to communicate outwards (as they all must do to work) then of course your network is continuously associated with your real identify.

Ok, firstly thanks for your reply :)
I have painstakingly gone through most of your steps (I always keep everything updated and also use windows security, so didn't need to check those) and nothing is making any difference sadly.
Have you any idea what Amazon are using that still identifies me as being me, even if I am not signed in? If you use Amazon yourself, you'll probably have noticed at the top right of the screen it says "hi" and then your name. Even with all cookies etc deleted, Amazon still recognises me somehow and puts my name there.
I'd love to know how they are doing that and somehow be able to clear that from my browser as well.
