All I could find was how to disable on Chrome. But I was able to improvise and customize the instructions do work on Edge, which is huge, for I couldn't find those instructions anywhere on the internet.

Here's how you disable Browse as Guest on Microsoft Edge:

1)Start by pressing Windows-S to bring up Windows Search.

2)Type in command prompt into the search box, and then click Run As Administrator to launch the Command Prompt console with administrative privileges.

3)Type in (or copy and paste) the following command (scroll till extreme right) into the Command Prompt console, and then press Enter:

    REG ADD HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge /v BrowserGuestModeEnabled /t REG_DWORD /d 0

    4)Restart Windows

I hope this helps! Please let me know if that works for you, ok?

Hi, ΠαναγιώτηςΜουζάκης. Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I am here to work with you on this issue.

Here's how you disable Edge InPrivate browsing:

Option 01 - Group Policy (Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise only)

    1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
    2. Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open the Local Group Policy Editor.
    3. Browse the following path:

Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Microsoft Edge

    1. On the right side, double-click the Allow InPrivate browsing policy.
    2. Select the Disabled option.
    3. Click Apply.
    4. Click OK.

Once you've completed the steps, the "New InPrivate window" option will appear grayed out in the Microsoft Edge main menu, and no one will be able to start the experience.

Option 02 - Group Policy Editor

    1. Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the Run command.
    2. Type regedit, and click OK to open the Registry.
    3. Browse the following path:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft

o Quick Tip: On the Windows 10 Creators Update, you can now copy and paste the path in the new Registry's address bar to quickly jump to the key destination.

    1. Right-click the Microsoft (folder) key, select New, and click on Key.
    2. Name the key MicrosoftEdge and press Enter.
    3. Right-click the newly created key, select New, and click on Key.
    4. Name the key Main and press Enter.
    5. Right-click the newly created key, select New, and click on DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    6. Name the key AllowInPrivate and press Enter.
    7. Double-click the newly created DWORD and make sure the value is set to 0.
    8. Click OK.

After completing the steps, Microsoft Edge will continue to show the "New InPrivate window" option, but it'll be grayed out, and users won't be able to launch the experience.

Regarding the Guest Browsing, that one apparently cannot be disable.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if that works for you, ok?

I have family safety monitoring but see no options to disable in private and guest modes. The old Edge had that ability but when we got the new Edge, I was no longer able to disable in private mode and I don't remember there being a guest mode before. How do you disable the in private and guest modes from the family safety site?

    Hi there,

Just to add to this, the options provided by Leonardo are correct and great for enterprise use cases. However, if you (and anyone landing on this thread later) are looking to disable these features from a family safety perspective, the best way is to create a family group on family.microsoft.com and add your child's MSA to this group. When your child signs in to Windows 10, you'll see other great family features like content restriction and activity reporting as well as disabled InPrivate and Guest browsing.

    Thanks for using Microsoft Edge!

    -Alex
