I have tried clearing my SSL state, turning off Experimental QUIC Protocol, correcting my system date and time and clearing my browser data.

Hi, thanks but it still isn't working after trying all 3 solutions listed.

    1. I am not connected to a domain network.
    2. I am not using any VPN/Proxy service.
    3. I cannot connect to the website on any of my devices (that includes my computer, laptop and mobile phone).

    Hi DrBooMSalad,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are seeing the error “ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH” while trying to access certain websites.

Usually, we see this error when trying to access a website with an outdated security code. The browser tries to avoid connecting to these sites to protect your privacy.

    For better clarity,

    • Do you have any anti-virus application installed on your computer?
    • Could you let us know the website that you are trying to access?

Although not recommended, for testing you may try the steps mentioned below:

    • Press Windows key + R, in the Run window type inetcpl.cplto open Internet Properties.
    • On the Advanced tab, under Security, enable Use SSL 3.0 and Use TLS 1.0
    • Try accessing the website from Internet Explorer.

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

It is possible the issue could be due to website’s certificate. However, let us try few steps.

Although you have checked the Date and Time settings, we can try to set the Time and Time Zone to automatic and run the Sync again.

    • On your PC go to Start>Settings >Time & Language>Date & Time
    • Toggle the switch to on for :
    • Set time automatically
    • Set time zone automatically.
    • Click on Sync Now .

    Add website to Trusted Sites:

    • Press Windows key + R, in the Run window type inetcpl.cpl to open Internet Properties.
    • Select the Security tab, choose Trusted sites and then select Sites. Add the site that you are trying to access(use https://).
    • Click on OK.
    • Try accessing the website through Internet Explorer. Although not advisable, if you see a prompt to “Continue to website” you can try it.

    Change Connection settings:

    • Press Windows key + R, in the Run window type inetcpl.cpl to open Internet Properties.
    • Click on Connections tab.
    • Under Local Area Network (LAN) settings, click on LAN Settings.
    • Uncheck all the boxes exceptAutomatically detect settings
    • Click on OK twice.
    • Try accessing the web pages.

    Also, let us know:

    1. Are you connected to domain network?
    2. Are you using any VPN/Proxy service?
    3. Are you able to access the website on the same network from any other device?

Hi, no I don't have any anti-virus application installed on my computer and the website I am trying to access is https://files.minecraftforge.net/.

I tried the steps you mentioned but it still doesn't work.
