How to Uninstall the New Chromium based version of Edge?

I do not want to go back through the process of explaining why I do not want the **** that is now running on my computer. I was promised by multiple Microsoft representatives that I would be able to uninstall the Chromium based Edge and the Legacy version would reinstall. Is this still an option?

So in a non-round-about way that doesn't have anyone associated with Microsoft blithering on ex post facto with "sorry" and "you can try this instead," no? Also your paraphrased answer to my question is... "get another browser that is completely inferior to my old edge." I think I might just use my phone for browsing from now on, and I also think I'll just go with Mac for my next computer. At least Apple is up front and says "Hey, Catalina is going to completely invalidate all of the 32 bit applications you've bought, sorry about that." In fact maybe all Microsoft users that disagree with this corporation play, should do likewise. I wonder if Microsoft would actually begin to poll the people they are going to affect the most.

The problem with your solution of simply setting a new browser is that it does not fix the problems that are being caused by the system files of the new Chromium Edge.  If it's not possible to roll back to the previous Edge, then the only way to eliminate those problems (freezing the computer every 2 - 4 hours) would seem to be to uninstall Edge entirely.

You paid for a license to use Windows, you don't own it. Big difference.

Hi, I am Nigel, Independent Advisor for Microsoft here to work with you on this issue.

Sorry, I seem to be answering this question more than any other, so your not alone!!

When initially Edge Chromium was release you were able to uninstall back to the old Edge.

This functionality is unfortunately not available now due to vulnerabilities in the old version which are not updated.

You can set an alternative browser in Windows 10 using the following instructions.

Change your default browser in Windows 10

Select the Start button, and then type Default apps.

In the search results, select Default apps.

Under Web browser, select the browser currently listed, and then select Microsoft Edge or another browser.

I hope this answers your query, apologies if it is not the answer you wanted.

Feel free to ask back any questions and let me know how it goes.
