Hi,

I am hoping that someone in the Navy or anyone who has experience with Navy site access can help me.

Just recently, I've been getting error messages when trying to access certain .mil (Navy) sites, with my CAC Card and CAC Card reader, on my Dell Laptop with Windows 10. I’m using Microsoft edge and it says the navy.mil site sent an invalid response. Also says the site is not secured.

I cannot even access My navy email or any navy related sites. I just bought this laptop last week.

    Hi Fernando_95,

It sounds like you are missing certificates on your new laptop to allow you to access Navy .mil websites. I recommend talking to their helpdesk to see if they can provide you with steps on installing the correct certificates on your new laptop.

The version and build of windows 10 on my laptop is  Version 20H2 (OS build 19042.1110)The version of Microsoft edge that is installed isVersion 91.0.864.71 (official build) (64-bit)I have tried to reset my settings. So as I first try to log into my navy email on a navy.mil website it tells me “connection is not private”.I clicked advanced -> continue anyways. As it bring me to the website it prompts me all the correct screens to log in. When I finally type in my log in and password as it tries to load it says“The connection for this site is not secure”.

    • What is the version of Edge installed on the PC? (Open Edge > click on (…) dots from top right corner > click on Settings > Click on About Microsoft edge from the left pane).
    • Does it happen on any other browser?
