Amazon Prime Video issues since the latest Edge update

Since the latest update I no longer get the X-Ray feature on any Amazon Prime Video videos, shows, or movies. Also, on the Amazon Prime Video main page, the popup that I should get when hovering over a show "window", does not show up. This popup should tell me more about the particular video, without having to click it to go to the show page.  These features worked correctly before the update.

The 2 above Amazon Prime Video features work correctly with Chrome.

Any ideas for me? Besides using Chrome... :))

Hi there, I'm Jason Go, a developer and a Microsoft enthusiast. I can help you on this.

As a developer I usually stumble upon websites where their pages does not work in browsers with built-in tracking protection and/or ad blockers.

Microsoft Edge, along with other chromium-based browsers like Opera, Vivaldi, and Brave have their own built-in tracking protection AND it's activated by default.

It's usually the main culprit for some pages not working as intended, as some of these pages have scripts that pings their servers or monitors the activity in their pages for security reasons. Unfortunately, this is still considered "tracking" despite being an essential tracking mechanism for that page.

To solve this, disable the tracking protection for that specific page by clicking the Lock Icon in front of your address bar and toggle-off the Tracking Prevention, just as seen below (example only):

If you have an ad blocker extension, try to whitelist the pages affected or disable the ad blocker for that specific page.

I hope this solves your problem. A yes vote will let me know it helped you!

I've experienced a bit of stuttering with new Edge on Prime video but nothing major. I don't think Amazon officially supports Edge Chromium yet, I know they support Edge legacy. Other then checking for driver updates and updates for Windows and Edge there is nothing much more to do then simply use another browser until it gets resolved. I think new Edge will get better as more users install it and are able to report issues.

On Amazon Prime I get the previews okay, but if I go to play a film I get sound but no visual. There's also an issue with Netflix where I get an error code telling me to update my browser. So damn annoying.

Thanks for the reply. I think you're right.. I'll have to suffer through it, or use Chrome.
