How to make Edge "Read Aloud" not pause at dot dot dot and exclamation marks

I used to enjoy reading the online books and articles with Edge's Read aloud feature. After recent update, I found it annoying that it will pause at [. . . .] or [ ! ! ] where author indicates silence/speechless or shock emotion paragraph. Every time it happens, I have to use "Read next paragraph" button to make the read aloud continues. Is there a way to fix this from the setting?

My current Edge Version 91.0.864.64

Good day Momoko61! I am Independent Advisor Paul R. and I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. I understand that you are having an issue with regards to MS Edge specifically on the read aloud feature that is not pausing on the markings. Kindly check and the try the methods/steps below and see how it goes.

    Method 1:

    • Launch MS Edge
    • Click on the 3 dots
    • Click on Settings
    • Click on Reset settings from the left side
    • Click on Restore settings to their default values and then click on Reset
    • After doing the above check and try it again

    Method 2:

    • You can also try to repair it or uninstall it by Pressing Windows key + I
    • Click on Apps
    • Under Apps & features look for Microsoft Edge and then click on it on and click on Modify and then click on Repair or Uninstall and go through the process
    • Head over to the link below and try to download the installer file and select the channel, build and platform

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...

    • After doing the above check and try it again

If you will continue to experience the issue even after trying the above and if you felt that this is with regards to the recent update, you can also send a feedback to the team that is working on Edge and hopefully a fix will be applied soon on the next update and you can provide a feedback from the browser itself by clicking on the 3 dots > Help and feedback > Send feedback.

    Regards,

    Paul R.

Hi Momoko61, apologies if the methods provided did not helped and what I would suggest is for you to send a feedback to dev team for Edge with regards to this one and hopefully this will be fixed on the next/future update. To send a feedback, press Alt+Shift+I while MS Edge is open.

    Thanks for trying to help.

I've tried both Method 1 & 2 and neither of them is working. :'(
