Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 10

Hi.
I'm one of those that didn't know that Edge was going to update. Alas, too late.
My issue is that every time I click on a link to open in a new tab from my favorites menue it closes down, which means that I have to start over if I wanted to open another one. That is usually the case since my memory isn't perfect and I could do this before without problem. It always starts at the top and it means that I have to scroll down to the folder I was in, start at the top from that one and scroll down again. A couple of times. (If I didn't want to open like 30 tabs in one go that is (in the last folder that is, don't want to know how many it would be otherwise...).)
Does anyone know of a way to keep the favorites menue open until I'm finished my selection?
Thank you in advance.
/Stefanie
P.S. I also despise the new layout for the favorites, the list look was way superior and it kept the folders opened. Aren't they suppose to minimise the stress on your arm/shoulder, not increase it with more mousework/clicks?

Sometime ago, my browser started this annoying behavior of closing when I right click a favorite to open in a new tab.
It has done it ever since and I'm really fed up.
If a particular category of favorite is near the bottom of the list, I have to scroll down every time I open a new tab with the right click. It didn't behave this way in the now distant past.
Hi Stefanie,
I know this was posted quite a while ago but it looks like this thread has gotten a lot of new views recently so I wanted to add a tip to help you and the other folks landing on this with your browsing! From the new Favorites flyout, you can middle mouse click to open your favorite in a new tab without closing the menu. This allows you to open multiple favorites from the flyout at once.
Note that with the new favorites flyout, right clicking to open a favorite in a new tab should not close the flyout either!
Hope this helps, and happy browsing! =)

Hi StefanieJLX
unfortunately, edge chromium does not have the option to keep the favourites open (yet), you can make the suggestion to the development team (to add to the requests already made), from within edge Alt+shift+I
hopefully Microsoft will add the feature soon, in the meantime i have a couple of suggestions.
right click on a favourite and select open in new tab.
Ctrl+Shift+O to open "manage favourites"
in the left pane select the folder
in the right pane click to the right of the name of the favourite (avoid clicking the name), do this for each you wish to open
right click on one of the selected favourites and select "open all (number of selected)"
there are some improvements to this currently being tested by the insiders.

(it seems this is not available to every user)
settings -> apps -> apps & features
click on microsoft edge
click the uninstall button
legacy edge will automatically be restored.
please let me know if you need more information on any of the above.
i am glad you found a work around.
hopefully microsoft will add the feature to keep the favourites open.
Hi.
Thank you.
Yeah, I can't uninstall, the first thing I tried.
Thankfully your tip about the manage favorites works and after finding the lovely addition of the program Tabs aside, I think I can make it work for how I use the internet.
