My laptop is having issues with opening internet banking in chrome - not bank issue

I have a laptop that is 5 years old and this last week, every time I now open my internet banking (santander) through chrome or microsoft edge, 90% of the time is just comes back to the login screen. On the odd occassion it lets me in, it will chuck me out to the login screen before I can do anything. i can log in fine on the app on my phone so I know its not me that is restricted.

Called bank - no known issues.

Have cleared cache, cookies, tried numerous fixes I have seen online like deleting registry keys etc.

I did have a MS update that I think has changed things.

I wonder if its defender that is doing this? All other sites are working fine!

It is so frustrating as I use it for work and I need it fixed asap!

Hi Wendy, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Sorry to hear you're having issues with the website. Have you checked if it is happening on another browser? If yes, try to change the DNS server address of your PC to see if it helps

    Hi Wendy,

Are you able to access those sites on another device without any issues? Also, is it a personal or a work computer?

Im afraid the problem is still the same. I have also downloaded Firefox to try a third browser and its still happening. I also had the issue last week with the Vodafone site. This is soooo frustrating now.

I have changed these settings, but will need to restart computer so will update tomorrow. As changing settings hasn't worked yet - but may require a restart.... thank you for your advice to date.
