I have been a long-time user of Chrome but have read positive reviews about the new version of Edge and decided to give it a try. While going through this trial I kept Chrome as my default browser. I have been using Edge during this trial period for a couple of weeks with negligible issues to report, until last night.
I was searching for a specific obituary listing from 2005. First, I did a search using Edge which returned no relevant results. Then, I switched to Chrome, entered the identical search criteria and it returned what I was looking for - first result,
Given my short-term exposure to Edge, is my above experience normal or is there a configuration setting that needs to be changed that would improve my search results? I would appreciate any information or feedback on my issue/concern. I really want to have the same comfort level with Edge that I currently do with Chrome.
Thanks.

This sounds likely. The search results you see are determined solely by the search provider you're using. Chrome has Google as its default search provider, while Edge has Bing as its default. The two search engines are different: they index web pages differently, they give pages different priorities and they serve the results differently. You shouldn't see much difference in search results if you use the same search provider in the two browsers.
To check this, on a new tab in Chrome, enter bing.com into the address bar and press Enter. This should open the Bing home page, with a search box in the middle. Enter a search term into the box and press Enter. Compare the results with those you get if you use the default search provider in Edge.
Similarly, in a new tab in Edge, enter google.com into the address bar and press Enter. This should open the Google home page, with a search box in the middle. Enter a search term into the box and press Enter. Compare the results with those you get if you use the default search provider in Chrome.
If you think you get consistently better results for your searches in Google, then change the default provider in Edge from Bing to Google. To do this, click ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > Privacy, search and services > Address bar and search (at the very bottom of the page). Under Search engine used in the address bar, select Google from the dropdown. After doing this, you can enter your search terms into the address bar on any page to have that search carried out by Google. Searches using the search box on the New Tab Page will still be sent to Bing, so you have the choice of two different providers on that page.

I tried your suggestion and you were absolutely correct. Thanks for weighing in today.
-Hi, my name is Claudeir, I'm happy to help you!
If you were looking for something older, from 2005, very specific, the results might be different because as you've already searched for this several times with Chrome, it knows you're looking for this link so it suggests you first, in Edge it may take a while for this to happen. I've also gone through this experience when I switched from Chrome to Edge.
-Feel free to leave your opinion, marking as answered if the answer helped, or leaving more details so that we can continue the service, this is very important to us.
