Add tree style tabs to Edge

I like the new vertical tabs option in Edge, but how do I suggest that they make it nestable like in the tree style tabs extension for firefox.  Instead of just having tabs in vertical, you can group them together if they are similar sites and then minimize the group.  Makes managing multiple tabs simple.  Especially for people like me who work in IT and all your tools are web apps.  Easier to open firefox and keep a group of service now tabs

I would also like to request tree-style tabs to be added natively to Edge browser. I had switched to Fire Fox briefly for this feature, but because it relied on an extension and modified CSS to get rid of the tabs on top, it just didn't make for a great experience and many things don't run well on Fire Fox. I also still had to have Chrome for google meets in order to have background blur, so Edge gives me almost everything i want and isn't Chrome.

    Please bring the Trees!!!

Vertical tabs are not the same as tree-style tabs. The "tree" there is important.

    Hey Ben,

I am a FF user and one of the main reason i haven't been able to leave FF is treestyle tab. This comment made me download Edge and give it a try. I was able to get vertical tabs but i don't know how to enable tree tabs. I am on Version 90.0.818.66 (Official build) (64-bit) on MacOS (Intel).

Is this feature in beta phase or do i have to enable via specific settings? please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Ali

Good day HiltonY! I am Independent Advisor Paul R. and also a Microsoft/Windows user like you and I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. I understand that you are looking into the tree style tabs in MS Edge. As the browser is still undergoing improvements, I would suggest to try an extension and check if this will help out.

    • Open MS Edge
    • Click on the 3 dots and then click Extensions
    • Look for Can't find what you're looking for? You can also get extensions from the Chrome Web Store and click on the hyperlink
    • If there is a pop-up above click on it to allow for an extension to be installed
    • Look/search for Tree Style Tab by xingtanzjr
    • Click on it and click Add to Chrome and click Add Extension from the pop-up that will appear and this will add the extension in MS Edge
    • After doing the above, check and try if you are good/okay with this extension for the time being

On the other hand, you can also reach out by providing a feedback with regards to this feature for MS Edge and you can do that via clicking on the 3 dots > Help and Feedback > Send Feedback and hopefully this will be added in the near future.

    Regards,

    Paul R.

... the tree style tabs extension for firefox.

I don't know how it works in Firefox, but there is an extension in the Edge Add-ons store with a similar name. you might want to take it for a test drive Treely: Tree Style Tab Manager - Microsoft Edge Addons

Instead of just having tabs in vertical, you can group them together if they are similar sites and then minimize the group.

There are several options currently available for testing in Edge that do what you describe. In a new tab, open the page called edge://flags. Type group into the search box, then change the appropriate flags from Default to Enabled. After a browser restart, you might get what you're looking for without using an extension.
