Edge update broke Ubiquiti UniFi video camera Live View

The recent update to Edge Version 98.0.1108.43 (Official build) (64-bit) for Windows 10 has broken my Ubiquiti UniFi video camera Live View. Now i get the error message "Unable to load <camera name> live stream" on every camera. I can't get any info on the internet about this problem that i can understand. I assume that there is some new security setting(?) that is blocking my camera feeds. Is there a setting that i can turn off in Options or something like that? If not, can i roll back to an older version of Edge and stop it from updating again? It annoys the hell out of me that Microsoft keeps breaking my apps by forcing updates on me. This happens again and again and again.

Extensions are add-on programs to add functionality to the browser. Here are the steps to check if you have any extensions installed.

    1. Click on the three dots menu button.
    2. Click on Extensions.

    Hi manokonstantsoro,

If you haven't already, I would like you to view your camera webpage with Microsoft Edge's InPrivate window and see if it loads correctly.

    1. Click on the three dots menu button.
    2. Click on New InPrivate window.
    3. Go to your camera webpage.

    Eric

Thank you for your reply. The first two methods did not work. So I then downloaded an older version as per instructions. But when i try to run it i get an error message that says something like: "installation did not complete as expected." I tried it multiple times with different download versions.

Good day manokonstantsoro! I am glad to be able to provide assistance to you today. I understand that you are having an issue with regards to MS Edge specifically on your Ubiquiti UniFi video camera Live View. Kindly check and the try the methods/steps below and see how it goes.

    Method 1:

    • Launch MS Edge
    • Click on the 3 dots
    • Click on Settings
    • Click on Reset settings from the left side
    • Click on Restore settings to their default values and then click on Reset
    • After doing the above check and try it again

    Method 2:

    • You can also try to repair it by Pressing Windows key + I
    • Click on Apps
    • Under Apps & features look for Microsoft Edge and then click on it on and click on Modify and then click on Repair
    • Check and try it again

    Method 3:

    • Head over to the link below and try to download the installer file (select the channel which is 97 and check the build of either 1072.76 or 1072.69)

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...

    • Check if you will be able to install it to see if it will work afterwards

If you will continue to experience the issue even after trying the above and if you felt that this is with regards to the recent update, you can temporarily use another browser of your preference and you can also send a feedback to the team that is working on Edge and hopefully a fix will be applied soon on the next update and you can provide a feedback from the browser itself by clicking on the 3 dots > Help and feedback > Send feedback.

If you are looking to stop MS Edge from updating in the future you can check out the below.

    • Press Windows key + R and from the run box type in there service.msc and press Enter or click OK
    • From the Services windows look for the following

    Microsoft Edge Update Service (edgeupdate)

    Microsoft Edge Update Service (edgeupdatem)

    • Double click on each service and Stop the service and then click Apply and then OK

    Regards,

    Paul R.
