Spell checker as stopped working on certain websites for example on Twitch spell checker doesn't work in the chat anymore and it was working earlier. But it does work in a private Edge window for some reason.

I've reset Edge to default settings and double checked all settings and everything is in order. I've turned extension off and uninstalled them and still no luck. I've even checked on a second PC and it works just fine. I've even cross referenced all settings. I'm confused with what else could possibly be the problem.

I'm using Twitch on the browser so there's nothing to reinstall and I haven't tried all the things you suggested yet I'm currently working my way through them. I just thought I would give you that little bit of information just in case it help at all.

    Have you tried reinstalling Twitch?

If that doesn't help then what about the fixes for Edge I gave you?

Ok so I have more information which itself is confusing. So I figured out if I'm signed out of Twitch spell checker works as normal in the chat box but as soon as I sign back in it stops working again. This is really confusing considering spell checker is built into Edge and as nothing to do with Twitch. Also this isn't the case on another computer this as really baffled me.

Thanks for the reply I'll try as you suggested.

Hi Gareth. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, specializing in Installation, Performance, Troubleshooting and Activation, here to help you.

Try these fixes for Edge Spell Checker:

    prakharbs Answer here:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/microsofted...

    https://howtomanagedevices.com/windows-10/920/m...

I'll give you everything possible to fix Edge so something should work:

    1. If possible back up your Favorites first in Edge Hub (three dots top right of browser) > Favorites > Manage Favorites > Export to file: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/143983-how-...

If you can't open Edge but another browser will open, then go into it's Settings to try to "Import from another Browser" your Edge Favorites so they are at least backed up.

    1. You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings.
    2. If you can't open Edge or if the Edge Reset doesn't work then go into Windows Settings > Apps > Apps & Features > Microsoft Edge > Modify > Repair.
    3. If those don't help then try reinstalling Edge over itself from official download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge
    4. If none of those repairs help try the additional repairs here:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-e...

    https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/common-...

    https://www.windowscentral.com/five-ways-fix-co...

    https://techgenix.com/problems-with-edge-browser/

    1. Next run System File Checker and DISM from Step 10 in this checklist:

    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki...

    1. If nothing else works then do a Repair Install, by installing Media Creation Tool, open tool and choose to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while keeping files, programs and most settings in place, is the most stable method to advance to the latest version, and solves most problems. Tutorial here: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/fix-windows...

If you want to report this to Edge Developers you can choose the Edge Hub (three dots to right of URL address bar) then Help & Feedback, then Feedback form to fill out. They will not even see it here, as this is a tech forums where mostly volunteers try to help others with their problems.
