it still automatically creates one

As I wrote three days ago, this is to be expected. You are trying to launch a profile that doesn't exist because you deleted it. So Edge creates it for you. Please read my earlier reply which explains how this happens and how to do it properly.

There is no evidence of 'corrupted user' or similar faults. Edge is working as designed.

ive set an account as my default profile to open when i open ms edge.

How did you do this?

The usual way is to launch the program from a shortcut with a command line switch pointing to the profile to be used, like this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --profile-directory="Profile 1"

If that profile directory no longer exists - e.g. because you deleted the profile - then Edge will launch with a new profile It looks like this is what is happening in your case.

If you have more than one profile configured, please switch to the one you want Edge to start with. In a new tab, open the page edge://version. You'll see the name of this profile's directory on the line labelled Profile path, like this:

C:\Users{user}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data*Profile 6*

To launch Edge with this profile, then, the shortcut target should read something like:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --profile-directory="Profile 6"

Note that the name of the profile shown on the page edge://settings/profiles will often be different from the name of the profile directory. You can edit the profile name, but not the name of its directory*. It's quite possible for a profile called Profile 3 to have its profile directory called Profile 7.

* Pro tip: to create a profile with custom name (I've chosen Amberley*), launch Edge by running (press Windows key + R) a command like this*:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --profile-directory="Amberley"

Then change the name of the new profile to Amberley by using the ⋯ (More actions) menu on the profiles page.

-Resolve issues with Edge:

Click on the three dots of Edge > Settings > Reset Settings > after restoring, just below click on About Microsoft Edge to keep everything up to date. Test and see if it resolved.

Some problems can also be caused by extensions, click on the three dots > extensions > and remove all extensions. Do the test.

If that doesn't work, clear the cache, using Ctrl+H > click the three little dots > clear browsing data > time range, From the beginning > select all options > Clear now.

Test it and see if it works.

If not, Windows+R > appwiz.cpl > press enter > right click on Microsoft Edge > Change > Repair.

If necessary, go to:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge

Scroll down and click Download for Windows, proceed to reinstall Edge.

i did all of the steps you said, and no i dont create a new user it automatically makes it, ill delete it and then i open the browser and its back

i dont think i want to create a new user and transfer everything to it if it works. i think ill just stop using edge instead. thanks anyway
