Edge icon in taskbar changes

I am using Windows 10, and I just made Microsoft Edge my default browser (I had been using Chrome earlier). Ever since I did so, however, I have found that the icon for Edge that is in the task bar has changed to something resembling a sheet of paper. I wonder why that is? Is there any way to fix this, so that the regular icon for Edge always appears in the taskbar? Thanks for your help.

    Hi GeorgeFJ46,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Can you try to Unpin and Pin the Edge icon in the Taskbar?

Right-click the icon > click Unpin from Taskbar.

Then search Edge in the Search bar > right-click Edge > Pin to Taskbar.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

The first thing to try is to pin a new icon there.

    1. Close down Edge completely.
    2. Right-click on the old icon and select Unpin from taskbar.
    3. Find Microsoft Edge in Start > All apps and right-click on it.
    4. Select More > Pin to taskbar.

    Any joy?
