After the update spellcheck is now broken, I have the settings on for spellcheck and it won't even underline gibberish or mispelled words. Don't know what to do... Also why do I need all these options on right click, chrome's right click is so much more condense and to the point with spellcheck working properly.

It looks like the webpage at edge://prefs-internals/ might be having issues, ... ERR_INVALID_URL

You can't visit that page in InPrivate.

"...on other Microsoft properties such as Word and Outlook."

But Word and Outlook use right-click for spelling corrections...

Thanks for sending over all those preference values! There are a couple things going on here, all of which are bugs on our side:

    1. Your "enable_spellchecking" preference is set to "false", meaning that spellchecking is disabled despite edge://settings/languages telling you it's enabled. This is a bug in Edge caused by the fact that we are not flipping that preference to "true" when at least one language has spellcheck enabled in Settings.
    2. Running a reset will change the "enable_spellchecking" preference to "false" again, landing you in this broken state. This is a separate issue that we're tracking. Given that spellchecking is enabled when you first install the browser, resetting your settings to their default state should not disable spellcheck. It looks like we inherited this from Chromium, so we'll be working in the Chromium project to correct this behavior.

Unfortunately, until we ship fixes for these issues, correcting this issue requires a bit of manual intervention. If you're comfortable with editing your preference files manually, you can follow these steps to re-enable spellcheck:

    1. Close all running instances of Edge
    2. Navigate to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\ in Windows Explorer
    3. Find the "Preferences" file located there, and open it in the text editor of your choice.
    4. Search for the "enable_spellchecking" preference
    5. Manually update its value from "false" to "true"
    6. Save the file
    7. Reopen Edge and verify that spellcheck is working correctly

If that doesn't unblock you, please let me know and I'm happy to help debug further! Thanks again for using Edge and for reporting this issue to us!

When I visit a similar page (compose a message on Yahoo Mail), I see the spellchecking options I would expect when Microsoft Editor isn't involved:

Please post a screenshot of your Check spelling section of the language settings page (edge://settings/languages), and also of the Windows settings page at Time & language > Language showing the preferred language(s).

The problem is that even though all the spellchecking settings are turned on when I do misspell something, nothing is being underlined as misspelled. As shown on the photo if you read my comments...
