Hi,

I've come up with a new topic!

I hope this will be an interesting thread. It's all about theming the Edge browser!

OK, let's get started right away...

Preparations...

First, let's do some preparations before jumping into the matter. So do these:

  • Open Microsoft Edge. If you don't have it, download from here: Download Microsoft Edge Web Browser | Microsoft
  • Now, after opening, click on the 3-dot button () on the top-right corner of Edge and click on Extensions.
  • Turn on the option "Allow extensions from other stores.".
  • Now, take a new tab and type edge://flags (copy-paste is recommended to avoid mistakes) and hit Enter. Search this on the search box in the page: Enable picker for color based themes. Click on the Default button and select Enabled. See SS:

When that's done, click on Restart button in the bottom of the browser window...

So that's all with the preparations!

Setup

I know you're excited about this section (maybe not).

  1. Setup some extensions Let's install 2 extensions: Tabliss: If there's anything you should install to make your New Tab look snazzy, it's Tabliss. ADVANTAGES:
Free, open-source, no upgrade-to-premium, widgets, etc. are its highlightable features. Even more, you can adjust the font style, size, and location of widgets.

**DISADVANTAGES:**Has a bug when you align quotes to the top of the New Tab page. The bug is, if you get a really long quote, you can't even access Options of the New Tab page, and you have to **reset it to fix or wait till the next day.**Personally, I'd recommend this extension because you get wallpapers which have 4K experience.

Click on the text **Tabliss** on the top and click on **Add to Chrome** button to install the extension. You need a normal window to install. This extension is NOT available in MS Edge Addons Store, so I took the link to Chrome Webstore.

After that, enable the extension in Edge Extensions page (access it through the method in the Preparations section) and open a New Tab. Then click on Keep changes and click on the Settings button in the top-left corner of the New Tab, and configure it. Here's my setup:

Custom Scrollbars **** - install this for modifying your scroll bars. 2. Choose accent colorYou remember turning on a feature from edge://flags? Well, that was to turn on accent color-choosing in Edge Settings.

Go into Edge Settings by clicking on the 3-dot button () on the top-right corner of Edge and clicking Settings button. Now click on Appearance button in the left side of the page. Voila! You get a list of accent colors. Unfortunately, you can't choose custom ones. Anyway, choose your accent color from the available colors. 3. If you want, you can turn on the Vertical tabs feature by clicking on this button in the top-left corner:

An advantage of Vertical Tabs is that you can open many tabs on the same window, unlike the Vertical Tabs feature turned off. Personally, I like Vertical Tabs. It's a great feature when I've got to check many threads in this Community.

Wrapping things up

Have a good look at your browser! You'll feel proud of yourself.

If you have any opinions, please leave them in the replies, but not through advertising or spamming. Spam replies will be dealt with by a Moderator.

Plus, this tutorial was made by myself, not from any other sources. No site owner should copy-paste this thread onto their sites. I know some sites who steal threads from this Community.

I hope this helps! If you liked this, please don't forget to leave an upvote! :)

I think I understood you. You want me to create another thread about changing Windows 10 themes. And you've some recommendations. Honestly, I'm using a good dynamic wallpaper changed named WinDynamicDesktop.

But, I think we should stop here since it's getting OT from the forum.

    Hi Joe,

Let me explain my thinking on this. When I saw this thread I thought to myself, "I bet this guy could follow thru with an idea I've had for years." Themes and wallpapers tie in with each other. I know that there are a lot of people on this forum like myself with limited skills and a lot of questions. I believe that the whole Windows concept over the last 30 yrs is so enormous and important that the whole subject of backgrounds, wallpapers, themes, and changer apps has become an after thought! EXAMPLE: updates have changed the background settings in my win 10 to picture and tile. No matter where you set them, they ALWAYS revert back to picture and tile. This part of windows has become a total mish/mash of confusing settings that change all the time. There are dozens and dozens of wallpaper changers in the internet. The best one I've seen is Bionix, but it is too complicated for me. The one I am now using is John's Background Changer. It's OK, but has limits. The Microsoft engineers could probably come up with a killer app that average users could understand in about a week, but I don't think they want to bother with it. What do you think of the idea of a wallpapers and changers thread?😎

I'll see about it and will let you know. :D

(PS: You meant about the desktop-wallpaper changing or Edge?)

    Hello again Joe.

I see that you are quite a busy fellow on this forum.😊 This looks like a very interesting forum thread you've started here. I have about 40 themes saved. I've always liked to see nice pictures on the desktop. Suggestion: I would like you to start up another thread to go with Ultimate Themes,

Ultimate Wallpapers and Changers. I've been looking for the best Wallpaper changer for years. I am amazed that Microsoft hasn't come out with a Killer wallpaper app in their 30yrs! I suppose that there's not enough money in for them.
