How to disable two-finger swipe navigation on Microsoft Edge Version 104.0.1293.47 (Official build) (arm64)

I am running Microsoft Edge Version 104.0.1293.47 on my M1 MacBook Pro macOS Monterey 12.2.1.

I would like to disable the two finger swipe gesture which moves forward and back in the browser history. In other browsers and applications using two fingers allows me to scroll horizontally (this is not a system OS issue but individual to Edge).

I have followed this guide which describes my same issue:

How to disable swipe navigation on Microsoft Edge Version 84.0.522.63 - Microsoft Community

Unfortunately the selected answer does not work for me; when I search edge://flags/ there is no option for "Overscroll History Navigation"

There is also no option in the settings.

I would like to disable ASAP. It is very annoying when dealing with wide spreadsheets that I want to quickly move horizontally without having to click the scroll bar. Even worse, this is sometimes triggered when I am attempting to scroll vertically on the occasion I scroll somewhat diagonally.

I am using Edge for it's lower RAM footprint than Chrome and integration with my work office 365 account, otherwise I would just use native Safari and not have to deal with this issue. Also typically day to day, I use a keyboard and mouse set up on a different machine, however when I want a light portable set up with my laptop I rely on the track pad.

    Hi se.ell.alb,

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

First, make sure that Edge is up to the latest version on Settings > About Microsoft Edge, if it is not, update it and check the presence of the flag again.

If it still doesn't show, try this other fix: Go to System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures > uncheck Swipe between pages.

    Thank you Rodrigo,

I was so sure that it could not be fixed with system preferences since I was not having the same issue in Safari, but simply changing those trackpad settings did the trick.
