    Hi smjnba,

Thanks for your update. I'm sorry for the information provided without confirming the system version with you. But don't worry, the solutions for Windows 10 and Windows 11 to this problem is similar, see below for details.

    1. Go to Services console by pressing Win+R, typing services.msc, and hitting Enter > Find Geolocation Service, and right-click it to open Properties > Change Service status (stop and then start), and change the startup type to automatic > Switch to Dependency tab > Click to check all Dependent System Components. Find them in the general service list in turn and enable them to ensure that all dependent components of this service are running normally.
    2. Click Start > Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Scroll down and flip the switch beside Set time Automatically to Off.

Switch to the pane of Region > Change the Country or region to another different location and then change it back to your location.

    1. If the problem is still there, try to change another network to check the result. For example, your mobile hotspot, or another broadband network.

Thanks for your time and patience. Let me know how does it go and I hope that helps.

    Best Regards,

The location used by Windows is sometimes detected, e.g. from the IP address allocated by your ISP. This might be a long way away in a different state or even a different country. To avoid this, make sure you have set your default location. Read more about the Windows location service here: Windows location service and privacy, and about how Edge uses your location data here: Location and privacy in Microsoft Edge

    To set your default location,

    1. Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Location.
    2. Under Default location, select Set default.
    3. Windows Maps will open.
You can enter a complete address to be sure of making the location accurate and ensure that the right spot is shown on the map.
You can also add the location to favourite places by clicking the star and selecting an option, e.g. Home.

If you're still having problems after working through these instructions, please post back giving details of where (e.g. which web page) your location is still not the right one.

    Hi smjnba,

    Thanks for reaching Microsoft Community.

It sounds like the location on your Windows 11 is incorrect. This may be related to the Geolocation Service and network. Kindly try the methods below to see if your location can back to normal.

    2. Click Start > Settings > Time & Language > Date & Time > Scroll down and flip the switch beside Set Time Zone Automatically to Off.

On the pane of Time & Language > Select Language & Region on the right > Change the Country or region to another different location and then change it back to your location.

    1. If the problem is still there, try to change another network to check the result. For example, your mobile hotspot, or another broadband network.

I hope this helps, and feel free to let me know if any updates.
