Compatibility View Settings, MS Edge

My department uses an old web-based MS Access application that previously only worked properly in Internet Explorer. In order for the application to work properly in Explorer, the site's URL needed to be added under Settings > Compatibility View.

The application now works (for the most part) in Microsoft Edge when the website is used in Internet Explorer mode. (IE is set as the default browser for this URL under settings.) However, Edge seems to point back to the Compatibility View settings in the user's IE browser... This is OK if IE is already loaded onto the PC, because the Compatibility View settings can be updated in IE, and then the Access application works properly in MS Edge. But for PC's that do not already have IE, the user is unable to download the IE browser.

Question: Can the Compatibility View settings be updated in Microsoft Edge... OR can IE still be downloaded onto a PC that does not already have it? (Other solutions are welcome as well.)... TY

With the page open in IE mode, click on the icon in the address bar. You should now see the option to Open this page in Compatibility view.

If IE11 is apparently not available, right-click start, select Run and enter optionalfeatures
Look for Internet Explorer 11 in the list and enable it.
