Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
After the latest update, Microsoft Edge does not work anymore. It won't open.
OS build: 19043.1949
opening the .exe will not work. Nothing happens. Sometimes, in Task Manager, it may temporarily appear with a "Suspended" status, and then go away with a blink of an eye. I've tried pretty much everything to troubleshoot, to get it to work. Restarting the computer, restarting with only basic microsoft services, modifying/repairing it.
I am already using the most up-to-date version of windows. I can try a full virus scan but I HIGHLY doubt that's what's causing my issue. I believe that it was perhaps a buggy update because that's when I first started experiencing this.
Opening Event Viewer, I've found this, and it may or may not have to do with my MSEdge not opening, but I can't read it:

It appears that I have to enable some sort of telemetry just to get Microsoft Edge to open, is that correct?
No. The policy that this registry key refers to became obsolete more than a year ago. It was only intended for domain-joined computers, and a check for this state introduced with Edge 105 unfortunately crashes the browser. Nothing changes with removing the registry entry other than Edge will now open normally. The conflict will be fixed in a future update to Edge.
Edge telemetry is now governed by the Windows Diagnostics & feedback privacy settings.
Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue with multiple computers. I renamed the 'User Data' folder found here C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge but it's not a complete fix for every user. Can this please be addressed as it is causing a major disruption in an organization with close to 1,000 devices? I have also attempted to delete the suggested registry key without success.
Update: October-07-22 Friday
Same problem again with the latest edge update lol.
I have the same issue on all of my computers. Edge is broken on all of them.
