Opening and reading PDF files in Microsoft Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
When I download a PDF file in Edge I can see the file name top right of screen while it is downloading and my McAfee checks the file etc but as soon as the file is finished downloading the file disappears. If I download again then the first file is then visible at top right together with an Open link and a second copy of the file gets generated but as soon as it finishes downloading they both disappear again.
After selecting to download again and the original file appears, if I quickly click the Open file on the previous download while it is still displayed then I can open the file while the second download completes.
Where can these downloaded files be found to open them after they disappear from the screen.

Hi OssieMac-
I'm Kevin B. Windows user like you. Thank you for sharing your concern, let me help you sort things out.
On your browser, press CTRL + J
It should open your download files / programs.
There should be an option to open it or open the file in the folder for you to see where the download location of that particular programs / files.
If you can't see the files / programs there kindly ensure that the download is finish or try it using different browser.
Please let me know if you do have questions. Hope this will help and have a blessed day!
Thanks,

Thank you Kevin B. I omitted to say in my previous reply that I knew that they are in Users*UserName*\Downloads but I thought that they should not disappear from the screen and I don't believe this has always occurred and I don't know why it occurs now but Ctrl J certainly displays them again.
I don't suppose that there is some setting that keeps them displayed?
