WebGPU is showing as enabled on edge://gpu

My understanding is that WebGPU is experimental and should be disabled by default. I am on Windows 11 22H2 with latest version of Edge.

I went to one of the WebGPU samples websites and the samples run, so it is genuinely enabled. It seems that the command line flag that disables WebGPU on chromium-based browsers is not working on current versions of Edge. I have asked others to test the issue on their PC's and 2 people have confirmed they have the same issue.

Are other people having this issue and where should the bug be reported?

    Dear CatBabylon,

I'm glad to see you again in Microsoft Community.

I was trying to express that the experimental feature WebGPU was enabled by mistake and that the previous expression was wrong. Thank you for your feedback on this issue, and we will keep an eye on this issue.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards,

Hi Zoee thanks for your reply.

Just to clarify, I am not trying to disable the edge-url page "edge://gpu". I am suggesting that the experimental feature WebGPU is incorrectly enabled in v106. I'm not sure if this was a typo or a misunderstanding on your part?

I have since reproduced the issue on Brave and the ungoogled-chromium fork of Chromium so the issue is likely to be upstream in the chromium project. The issue doesn't seem to happen on the retail version of Google Chrome which might explain why it hasn't been noticed already. I have raised a bug on the chromium bug tracker.
