Troubleshooting website display or functionality issues in Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I recently had to factory reset my pc because of performance issues and now that it's reset, I can't access google or youtube because of Certificate expired error. I tried every solution online , most of them being to make sure my system time and date are correct but that hasnt helped. Is there another fix for this ? I really need help because this also affects my ability to update my drivers through Nvidia shadowplay. It mentions that something in the browser is blocking access for me to sign in. Connection is private error , ERR_CERT_REVOKED

I realize that this question was asked half a year ago, but my answer may help others bumping into the ERR_CERT_REVOKED error. Recently I had the same problem with Edge and Chrome. But Firefox worked, so it was clearly a local Chrome/Edge problem. It turned out that somehow there was a faulty GlobalSign Root Certificate in the local Windows certificate store, which is used by Chrome and Edge Chromium. I removed this revoked root certificate and then it all worked again.
Steps:
a) you can easily do this by starting good old Internet Explorer, hit settings and there you have the small window
b) go to the content tab, click the certificates button and find the certificate. If it is a root certificate then select the tab for trusted root certificates.
c) find the certificate that was revoked. Check the details to find the correct one (first checking start and end date may help)
Now try accessing the web site again. It should work.
Here's another reply because your solution solved this same issue for me (NET::ERR_CERT_REVOKED in both Chrome and Edge, but not Firefox).
I followed your exact steps. In my case, the faulty certificate was DigiCert Global Root CA. When I opened the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab, and scrolled down to find the DigiCert Global Root CA certificate, I found two that were named DigiCert Global Root CA.
To differentiate between the faulty one and the OK one (assuming only one of them is faulty), I went back to Chrome, clicked on the "Not secure" icon in the search bar in red text, clicked on Certificate, clicked on Certification Path, double-clicked on DigiCert Global Root CA right at the top of the path, clicked on the Details tab, and I tried to compare the values in this tab with the values of the 2 certificates in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab.
In my case, the two certificates had different "Enhanced key usage (property)" values, so I just removed the one that matched the certificate in the browser.
I'm glad you posted this answer because it helped me greatly, so just adding more detail in case it helps someone else.
In the same way that both Google Chrome and Edge were affected, other programs on my system were affected as well and this solved the problem with those programs as well.
I have no problems with Firefox...Why? Constantly get certificate errors with EDGE.
@homerlappegaard
This is because by default Firefox relies upon its own bundled certificate store/mechanism. It can be configured to trust the windows system certificate store - but its not the default behavior.
Chromium-derived browsers rely upon the system's certificate store alone.
Hi I'm GNJ. I'm Greg, an installation specialist, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, and Volunteer Moderator, here to help you.
I will give you all steps to fix Edge so at least something will work.
First try right clicking Network icon in System Tray, choose Troubleshoot Problems, then I'm trying to reach a specific website, paste in the URL's for the sites having problem to let it trace what the problem is and try to resolve it.
If not:
Back up your Favorites first in Edge Hub (three dots top right of browser) > Favorites > Manage Favorites > Export to file. If you can't reach Edge you can install the tiny app Manage Edge Favorites here: http://www.emmet-gray.com/Articles/EdgeManage.html to do this, which also gives Edge all of the Favorites Management enjoyed in Internet Explorer.
You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings, or for old Edge in Settings > Apps > Apps and Features, scroll down to Microsoft Edge, highlight it, choose Advanced Options, then Repair, or if that fails, Reset.
If that doesn't help then try re-registering the app following Option Two here: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3175-apps-re...
New Edge is available for download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge and will replace the old one. To run both see here: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/144061-enab...
To try to remove New Edge and go back see here:

Some have reported that System Restore will go back to the old Edge: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...
I would have several browsers on your task bar so there's always one that's best for the task. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. It's easy to share bookmarks between all of them in their settings under Import Favorites from another Browser, and Firefox and Chrome let you sign in to save and/or sync your Favorites on any other device you sign into. Set the preferred browser as Default in Settings > Apps > Default Apps.
Firefox download: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
Chrome download: https://www.google.com/chrome/
If nothing else helps then run a Repair Install by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing from it to Upgrade Now. This reinstalls Windows while saving your files, apps and settings in place, brings it up to the latest version 2004 which you need anyway and by the most stable method. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m...
I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and let us know how it goes. I will keep working with you until it's resolved.
