Can't sign in to Ancestry.com using Edge - No problems with 3 other browsers

Really frustrating. I can't sign in to my Ancestry.com account with Edge (Win10 64 16GB). I keep checking back and trying again every month or so hoping (HA!) that the glitch has been fixed. Ancestry support of course points its finger at you. Corporate You doesn't respond. Ancestry's big enough to deserve some attention or maybe they screwed the fix. Who knows! Edge is even listed as a compatible browser on their site (probably was). My guess is that it's something from when Chromium Edge came out. I've already gone through all the standard ****, even clearing all cookies/history which really sucked and I knew wouldn't do squat. It's not a frickin Betty Crocker issue if I can't even get past security but maybe I didn't do the correct cleansing rite, and I threw mice n rice over my right shoulder instead of my left. Who knows! Still, I'd appreciate any feedback/ideas from y'all. Hopefully it is user error.

Situation: After filling in user name and pword and clicking sign-in, it starts the process and the padlock unlocks for a couple seconds , then stops and comes back telling me to sign-in like nothing had happened. It is consistent in the amount of time it takes from the click to the full-stop. It hits something or doesn't find something and it's instant surrender. I have no problems signing in with any other browser.

Good Day Jckinswo,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

Here's the steps you can try.

Reset the Edge

-Open Edge and click the 3 dots at the upper right side of your screen.

-Go to Settings

-Look for Reset Settings

-Click Restore settings to their default values.

(This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.)

Once done restart your computer and try to sign in.

If issue persists, try to re-install the Edge browser using this link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/business/d...

Download and install the version (96.0.1054.43)

Once downloaded and installed restart and try to sign in.

I hope the information above helps. Please let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Carlo T.
