Unable to use CTRL+DEL to delete characters

Since I do a great deal of writing, I need to change things. CTRL+DEL is supposed to delete characters or a word ahead of the cursor (CTRL+Backspace deletes...well, back). CTRL+DELETE suddenly stopped working, but the other one is fine. Yes, the DEL key works for individual characters, and other shortcuts for editing are still working.

My other browsers, as well as other programs on my Win10, are working fine. Just that one thing on the Edge browser.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    CTRL+DELETE suddenly stopped working,

I can't reproduce this: Ctrl-Del works just as I'd expect, deleting the word ahead of the cursor. If the fault is confined to Edge and works in other programs, we can probably rule out a hardware (keyboard) problem. Does the behaviour persist in InPrivate mode (Ctrl-Shift-N)? If it doesn't, you may have an extension that's interfering. To test, then, disable all extensions and test. If the problem goes away, reinstall them one by one or in batches until you can identify the culprit.

Apart from that, the only things I can suggest are first repairing the installation, and if that doesn't help, resetting the profile settings to their defaults.

The first should ensure that all of the program files are up to date, present and correct, to rule out any problems with them. To do this, click Start > Apps > Apps and features, Scroll down to Microsoft Edge and click on it, then click Modify and follow the prompts to Repair it. This won't affect anything else.

The second will deal with any error that's crept in via program settings. It's a bit more invasive, so be sure to read the notes that you see on the way. Click (Settings and more) > Settings > Reset settings and follow the prompts.
