When trying to import data from Google Chrome, it stalls on "Import in progress".

Steps to re-produce this problem:

  1. In the address bar, type edge://settings/profiles/importBrowsingData and press ENTER.
  2. Click Import in the Import data from Google Chrome.
  3. Select all or individual items to import and click Import.
  4. A pop-up dialog box will ask you to enter your Google account password; type it in and click Next.
  5. Wait a minute, and you will see that it stalls on Import in progress.

Note that while it stalls on Import in progress, it may not change to Imported. Screenshot enclosed:

The problem persists. I left the browser open for 2 days and it is still showing as in progress. I have checked and there are no passwords imported, even though it requested and downloaded a Google Takeout.
