Even after restarting the browser and updated the browser and even in incognito I get the same error where https has a line thru it marked red.

It's the same error below for all these websites:

verified.capitalone.com/auth/signin yet the home page capitalone.com works, just can't login https://secure07ea.chase.com/web/auth/dashboard#/dashboard/overviewAccounts/overview/index yet chase.com works, just can't login either

"When Microsoft Edge tried to connect to (website) this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This may happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be (website), or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Microsoft Edge stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.

You can't visit (website) right now because the website sent scrambled credentials that Microsoft Edge can't process. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later."

I don't get these errors when viewing in Chrome.

Clicking on Advanced doesn't give me an option to proceed. How to fix this and get Edge to be able to process scrambled credentials again other than using thisisunsafe every time?

using thisisunsafe allows me in, with the exception of Banana Republic Factory, trying to search for anything says the website encountered an error and can't display any search results...

Thx! Before I read your response, I looked at the certificates for those sites and they all looked like my Avast antivirus's SSL scanning function was interfering with them not doing it correctly which scrambles the info or whatever, so I repatched Avast & restarted the laptop and now everything works.

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Bernard a Windows fan like you. I'll be happy to help you out today.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, can you try to access the website using your phone with the same internet network? if it's not working on your phone that means the issue is on your Internet service provider, which you need to contact the Internet service provider, if it's working fine on your phone, and the only issue is in your PC, kindly follow the steps below:

First, we will do is enable WWAN and WLAN services, these services are essential to run the Wireless and wired connection perfectly.

    • Open Services (Press Windows key + R then type in services.msc then click OK)

-Look for WLAN Autoconfig and WWAN Autoconfig> Right-Click Properties and set it to automatic (If it's already set to automatic, right-click then click stop then start it again)

    -Restart the PC and check

If the issue persists, run the following command in Command Prompt (Admin). Follow the steps below to do so.

These sets of commands will reset the internet connection and re-calibrate the internet settings you have.

    Press Windows Key + X.

    Click on Command prompt (Admin).

Type the following commands, and hit Enter after each command:

netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

If the same issue follows the methods below:

    Method 1. Do clean boot:

A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
    • On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
    • Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.
