MS Edge Version: 114.0.1823.37
For some reason, I no longer have the Web Select option in the right-click context menu. I still have Web Capture, but Web Select is no longer there. Did MS remove this feature, or is it a bug?

I was able to re-enable Web Select function based on a tip I found in a YouTube video It says:
"There is a way to restore the Web Select feature to Edge by simply adding a command to the end of the target in the Edge shortcut's properties. Simply add a space and this text afterwards. You will need to be an admin to save your changes.
--enable-features=msEdgeAreaSelect
You may have to reboot a couple of times for it to start working so be aware of that."
This worked for me!

I would like to point out that on my PC at least, running Microsoft Edge for Business Version 117.0.2045.12 (Official build) beta (64-bit), that:
So at least on this beta build, I see no evidence of the feature being removed. I'm not sure why the option was clearly missing for some of you.
To the Microsoft Edge Team, if any of them ever look at this thread:
I still wish you had left the "Web select" option on the right-click menu instead of the less useful "Web capture" option.
As I've stated previously, "Web select" is something that other browsers do not have and, in my opinion, gives Microsoft Edge a competitive advantage over other browsers. Because of that fact, the discoverability of that feature should be given prominence on the right-click menu, instead of giving prominence to something called "Web capture" which just looks like any other screenshot utility.
I am of the opinion that if you see something that looks like a screen capture utility, and you are already in the habit of taking screen captures with other utilities (Windows Key + Shift + S, PrintScrn, or with 3rd party utilities like SnagIt, FullShot, etc), then you are unlikely to bother to click Web capture and therefore will be less likely to discover that the pop-up menu contains the Web select feature in the first place.
You are welcome and hopefully this gets fixed om the next update. Have a good day.
I miss the days of apps that let power users customise the menus and toolbars. What works for the majority doesn't work for everyone, and while it can make it harder to provide tutorials and help articles if people have customised menus, it sure does make my life easier and happier.
