I need to know how to restore ALL of the tabs that unexpectedly closed all at once, not one by one
Yes, Nathan, has happened to me at least twice now. I've just lost 100 tabs AGAIN. I know I shouldn't have all these open but it's how I operate, unfortunately. Great for reference. However, I would like to know how to get back all tabs lost in one 'chunk' when on Edge for Android. If there's currently not a way to achieve this, PLEASE build it into a near future version!!!!!
FYI: Ctrl+Shift+T in Edge desktop has saved my bacon several times to restore clumps of lost tabs! Just in case you haven't tried that.
How can I get Edge to restore all the tabs I had open last session?
Make sure you have this option selected at ⋯ (Settings and more) > Settings > Start, home and new tabs:
Note that each Edge window is a separate session, so only the tabs in the last window to be closed will be restored automatically at the next launch. To avoid losing tabs in other windows, use ⋯ (Settings and more) > Close Microsoft Edge to close all windows at once. Don't use the red ✖ if you have more than one window open when you're closing Edge down.
💡
Pro tip: Create a new favourite, then edit its name to Quit (or ✕ if you prefer) and change its URL to edge://quit. Put it on your favourites bar:
Clicking this will have the same effect as the Close Microsoft Edge command, so all open windows will be retained with their tabs.
Hey there, New User3
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
If Edge closed unexpectedly, it will ask you if you wish to restore the previous browsing session. If you click restore, then it will open previous tabs.
However, if Edge did close like it should, and you wish to re-open the tabs from the previous session, the one way to do this is via History. Pres Ctrl + H together to bring up your history.
You will see your history appear along with three tabs (All, recently closed, tabs from other devices). You want to click onto recently closed. You will be able to click onto the sites to open the tab on the current tab. Or press Ctrl then left click to open the tab in a new tab.
Hope this helps,
Nathan
I am currently numb with shock. I lost dozens of tabs I needed to have open for reference. I never have more than one Edge window open and I've restored the tabs many times before but this time I didn't realise I had clicked on something that launched a popup new Edge window. Windows at this same time was acting weird with Edge open with all the tabs. So I closed the main Edge window using the red ✖ only to see the still open popup window. Closed that. Restarted Edge and can't bring back my tabs. This is a disaster. I can't seem to find the setting you're referring to close all Edge windows at once so this doesn't happen again. I'm still in shock.
