Since moving to Windows 11, I have trouble clearing my browser history. I use google as my main browser in Microsoft Edge. I have all the settings set up about what to clear. I try clearing now and also it should clear when I close the browser. I have also tried clearing it by going to settings, history, clear browsing data. The history is still there.

Hi Constance, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.
Where are you seeing the history still appearing? Did you exclude some websites to be cleared?
In the meantime, try clearing their site data and see if that helps. To do this, go to Edge Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data. Search the website then click the bin icon to remove and check if the issue is fixed. You may also click on Remove all if you intend to clear them all.
Do you mean that you also have a Google Chrome browser and the history there also shows in Edge?
I did everything you said. Checked all appropriate boxes and selected "all time". I also checked the box that tells the system to clear history when closing the browser. I can do this and totally shut down my laptop and history is still there.
I really think it has something to do with Windows 11 and Edge.
Already taken care of though by stopping the use of Edge and using Chrome. No problem clearing history in Chrome.
I was using Edge as my browser and Google as my search engine. I have now made Chrome my default browser and am now able to clear browser history. I'm convinced it's something to do with Edge and Windows 11.
Followed your directions for Edge Settings. Some history is still there. I'm seeing it in my Google browser. I go to the 3 dots in upper right, click on History, then when history comes up I click on 3 dots in the right corner of the list and click Clear browsing data. Clear browsing data window displays. I make sure all my choices are checked (i.e.browsing history, download history, cookies, etc.). I click Clear now. When i go and check the history list (3 dots, history) the browsing data is still there. This started when I upgraded to windows 11.
