Edge Collections (still) not remembering the Sort order I set

Hi there,

I asked the below question back in July 2022 and received a promising response from Eric-SE who said that he could reproduce it and will report it to the MS engineering team. Yay! Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything since then and my thread has been locked to further edits. So to start the new year as I mean to go on (by not leaving anything hanging), here is my question again!

===

Hi there,

I really like the Collections feature of Edge [Edit: Please don't kill them off - I use them in preference to Favourites across my devices!] and I use it a lot but it's annoying me by always forgetting the sort order I set ...

It's now a routine, whenever I need to access a collection, for me to have to set Sort by Name every time I (re)open my Collections in the same Edge browser session or in a new one.  See below.

Why doesn't it remember my last used sort setting?  Is this a bug? I could understand if I were using an anonymous login on a shared computer but this is me logged in Windows 10 on my work laptop as myself.

My only way around this issue to to leave the Collections sidebar open, wasting valuable screen space.

I've also noticed the below weirdness in the opened sidebar.  Why are their twoidentical lines showing my selected sort order? And worse, if I close either one of these or the Collections sidebar, my collections revert back to whatever random sorting criteria Edge Collections is using as its default. And the default sort bares no relation to the NameDate Created or Recently Used attrbutes of my Collections (or any of these reversed).

Any advice appreciated but a resolution would be loudly applauded!

Thank you!

Chrissy

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    We fully understand the inconvenience the issue has caused and that the current situation can be frustrating.

    I ran a test for you and the problem does exist. In order to help you more accurately, I recommend that you use edge's feedback feature to submit the problem to the edge development team.

    You may feedback your questions again in the Microsoft Edge browser. Open the problematic page in the Microsoft Edge browser, then use the shortcut keys "Alt" + "Shift" + "I" to open the feedback window (Note that the feedback window will capture the current screen and URL link and email address, and you can add Attachment and record your problem), enter your problem, and click "Send".

    After feedback you can share the link in your reply, and subsequent users in the forum with similar problems to yours can click on it, so it can be seen by the edge development team faster.

    Best regards
