    How do I stop Edge from signing onto my Microsoft acct when I open up Edge? It totally slows down Edge from opening up.

    Try ... > Settings > Profile preferences. Switch off "Automatic sign in on Microsoft Edge".

    I suggest it in case it works for you, even though it does not work for me. That is, Edge does not log me in even with that setting enabled.

    Hello Roberto,my name is Luiz Cruz independent consultant and I'm here to help you;

    I understand that Edge is accessing your Microsoft account when you open it;

    Have you tried logging out of your profile when logging into Edge?

    Open Edge and go to Settings;

    You will see your profile on the screen;

    Click Exit;

    You will sign out of your Edge account;

    Then click on + Add profile;

    Click Add;

    Click Start without your data;

    Edge should now launch without your Microsoft account signed in;

    Hope this helps, see you soon!

    What I have tried in order:

    1. Automatic sign in on Microsoft Edge from the browser - disable it
    2. msconfig - uncheck the Microsoft Sign In Assistant. It cuts 5 minutes time since it's not trying to access the sign-in server.
    3. reset the settings on Edge
    4. Made my sign-in local. I'm a stand-alone home user not connected to any network

    There's a sign-in button on my Edge toolbar along with my favorites and downloads buttons. I went into the Edge settings so I can remove it but there is none on the menu.

    This all started 2 weeks ago during an automatic upgrade...

    Ed,

    It says "not syncing. we can't sync to your account since we need to confirm it's you. please sign in again to verify it's you" with a sign in bar below that. If I click on that bar, I get an error message with the code of 0x80070426. That's the same message I get when I open up the browser since I unchecked the "sign in assistant" via msconfig. I'm responding to you because I hit the reply button and signed in that way with no problem.

    I'm running the same version as you..

    Hi, Roberto!

    My name is Caio and I'll be happy to help you today =)

    If simply logging off isn't working, then try resetting MS Edge. Here's how to do it:

    (Note: This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.)

    > Open MS Edge

    > On top right, click on ... and choose Settings

    > On left menu, click on Reset settings

    > Click on the Reset button

    I hope this helps you! Please let me know if I can assist you more.

    Best regards,

    Caio G.
