I found this video, it contained someone using windows 10 in 2020, they created a .txt file on their desktop. Once they did that, they were renaming the file, but it included the file TYPE. How do I do that? But most importantly, how can’t I do that? Is it because I’m using windows 11, or is it because it’s 2023?

Also, I want to figure this out so I can make something using visual studio and whatnot.

Could you help me with that?

    Hello 2DOGGO4,
    I am Jaspreet Singh.
You need to enable file extentions viewing in file explorer.
Open file explorer by pressing windows and E keys together
Click on view then click on show from the dropdown
In the next dropdown ensure that file extentions are enabled.

Thanks for the help, I may have this enabled only for one file modification, but now I can change file types from one to another effortlessly!
