There is no status bar (as you may be used to from Internet Explorer, for example) in Edge. The information that might be displayed down there is now elsewhere, on the ⋯ (Settings and more) menu or behind an icon in the address bar. The only information that appears where the status bar used to be is the URL underlying a link when the mouse pointer is over it. Like this: https://reallynicesite.com.
What were you hoping to see on a status bar?
How about the information that used to be there... moving it is one thing... hiding is another... not showing it is wrong

What to see on the status bar? To see if the browser is hitting any other site while it loads.
The Vivaldi browser has a status bar.
Very interesting... it's like Microsoft is letting these other companies do what users want and they migrate away from MS products... yup... if more products did that, I might be ready to abandon Microsoft.
