I have a potential Malware issue on my PC that I can't seem to get rid of within Edge. I noticed this when I would go to Google search something in the address bar, and it would redirect to Microsoft Bing. When I hit enter, I noticed the website "searchmonkey.com" pop up for a split second then the search comes up in Bing. I checked my search engine settings and these were indeed set for Google.
After digging further, I noticed an extension within Edge in which I cannot delete and says managed by organizations:
I then noticed this mess within my Edge policies:
On top of this, I get this rvstack thing when I go to most sites:
I have reset Edge multiple times, ran CCleaner, Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro, AdwCleaner in an attempt to get rid of this issue. Also tried blowing away registry keys for Edge as well. Nothing is ever detected and no action seems to get rid of this. Any help on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated! My last resort is to reformat the machine and reinstall Windows fresh, in which I was trying to avoid.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
Mark

Hi Mark,
Were you able to undelete those extension folders you deleted to remove the gray from that Apps extension and you still cannot uninstall that extension?
Thanks again for the quick reply...I went ahead and blew away the Edge folder in the registry path you provided in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. There was no Edge folder in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Launched Edge and no change, still the same issue...frustrating because this has to be living somewhere! ha
Hi Mark,
If you restore those folders form the recycle bin, does that remove the grey from that extension?
if it does, then try this method and then try removing that Apps extension:
Close Edge
Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.
Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.
Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
In the left pane, if there is a sub folder of Microsoft named Edge, delete it
Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft
In the left pane, if there is a sub folder of Microsoft named Edge, delete it
Open Edge and see if your can remove that Apps Extension
Hi Mark,
I am Dave, I will help you with this.
Close Edge,
Open File Explorer, then in the address bar, paste this and press Enter.
%localappdata%
In the resulting folder, is there a folder named MicroApp?
If there is, delete that folder
Then open Edge and check if that Apps Extension is gone
