I have to deselect and re-select the dark theme every time I launch Edge. Ridiculous!

I'm on Xubuntu

I'm on Mint Linux now and it's broken :/

There's an easy fix for Linux Mint 21.2:

Open "Themes", then go to last tab "Settings".

There's an option for "Dark mode" which is set to "Let applications decide" by default.

Change that to "Prefer dark mode" and Edge will finally honor the dark mode setting :)

    Hope that helps!

Is that for cinnamon DE?, i have Mint 21.2 with Mate, which has Edge broken as described, and can't find this setting.

Yeah, I'm using Linux Mint 21.2 with Cinnamon in language de-DE.

Here are 2 screenshots for de-DE and en-US:

Maybe this is not available in the Mate Edition, don't know for sure.

This problem also occurred after the update. The desktop environment I am using is xfce.

After testing, the name of system theme must end in "dark" for Edge's dark mode to work properly.

yeah, the update didn't fix it. At least it's good to know it's not just my PC.
