I've tried all the advice on here to get rid of Co pilot and it just won't go. Is it my settings, a fault on my laptop or is Co pilot programmed to stick like glue?

Tried all the advice on here on how to get rid of Co pilot but nothing has worked so far. Finally managed to clear it off Word - but on searches etc it just won't go. It's blinking haunting me.

    Angela,

I put in the same key phrase, How to speed up my computer, and it goes HERE. This is a pure Bing search. Yes, there is included a Copilot answer, but... if the Copilot answer is not of interest, ignore it.

Copilot cannot be removed. As was said earlier, don't use it. However, although a Copilot answer, ALSO, shows, Copilot is not being used. If one searches the same thing with Copilot it goes HERE. Top answer being Copilot's.

Bing search and Copilot search are 2 different and separate things.

Copilot comes into by User request, exclusively. Same in Word and all MS365 apps. Copilot is there, unused, until & not unless by the User involving it.

Not even obliged to use Copilot in Notepad, even though, it is, also, there, now, too.

There is no need or reason to remove Copilot.

    Cheers,
    Drew

Hi Angela, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Are you talking about this "Copilot Answer" in the search results (see the image below)? If so, you are not alone with this issue. It looks like this feature is part of Bing where Copilot gives a summary of the search results. I've noticed it happening with a lot of search engines such as Google. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a way to turn it off.

We'll need to send a report using the Feedback link at the bottom of the search results to request an option to turn it off.

However, if you're okay to switching with a different search engine, DuckDuckGo has the option to turn it off permanently.

Up until recently, Copilot was an app that you could uninstall. Now Copilot is becoming part of the operating system, so it can no longer be removed. If you don't like it, don't use it. It's not causing any harm by simply being there. Copilot is one of many parts of Windows 11 that I don't use, like Microsoft Edge, Windows Backup, OneDrive, Outlook, etc.
