Unable to Access Microsoft Edge Add-ons Store (ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED)

Hi everyone,

I'm having trouble accessing the Microsoft Edge add-ons store on my Windows 11 computer. When I try to open the store, I receive an error message stating "Hmmm… your Internet access is blocked (ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED)."

Details:

  • I can access all other websites without simmilar messages.
  • I'm using Microsoft Edge and Windows Security (no third-party antivirus software).
  • I've already tried disabling the firewall in Windows Security, but the problem persists.
  • Opening the add-ons store in Chrome works, but I cannot download and install extensions from other browsers to Edge.
  • Reinstalling Microsoft Edge after deleting the "Edge" and "EdgeCore" folders hasn't resolved the issue.

Previous Post:

I previously posted about this problem, but I can't reply in 96 hours, and the microsoft agent suggest me to made another new thread if I did not get another reply after the next 96 hours.. I apologize for the repost, but I'm hoping to get some help this time around.

Question:

Does anyone know why I'm unable to access the Microsoft Edge add-ons store despite having internet access and disabled firewall in Windows Security? Are there specific settings within Windows Security that might be causing this issue?

Additional Information:

  • Windows 11 Home Single Language (version 22H2, OS build 22621.3296)

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

    Hi, Bram96

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It's quite unusual that you're only unable to access the Microsoft Edge add-ons store while other websites are working fine. Here are some additional steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    1. Reset Network Settings:
      • Search for CMD, open it and find the command prompt (run as administrator)
      • In the command box that pops up, enter the following commands in order (after each line has run, enter the next one)
          ipconfig /release

          ipconfig /renew

          ipconfig /flushdns

          ipconfig /registerdns

          netsh int ip reset

          netsh winsock reset

          netsh winhttp reset proxy

      • Reboot the computer
    2. Create a New User Profile: There might be an issue with your current user profile. Create a new user account on your Windows 11 and try accessing the Edge add-ons store from there.
    • Select Start > Settings > Accounts and then select Family & other users. (In some versions of Windows you'll see Other users.)
    • Next to Add other user, select Add account.
    • Select I don't have this person's sign-in information, and on the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
    • Enter a username, password, or password hint—or choose security questions—and then select Next.

Hopefully, one of these solutions will help you regain access to the Microsoft Edge add-ons store.

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards
